About The Play Academy
The Play Academy was formally known as Monkey Puzzle Portsmouth.
Welcome to The Play Academy. We are a nurturing and inclusive Nursery and Preschool offering full day care for children age 3 months to 4 years. Centrally located on Elm Grove in Southsea, we have been running as Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery since November 2015.
Owned and run by longtime friends Rahma and Emily, who made the decision to branch away from the franchise model and go independent, resulting in the establishment of The Play Academy. We have a passion for Early Years and strive to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore, be inspired and achieve.
At The Play Academy, we believe that every child’s potential is limitless and that is why we follow a child-led play based approach to learning, allowing your little ones to explore and discover at their own pace. We understand that each child is unique and we celebrate individuality by tailoring our activities to their interests and abilities.
Our well planned and resourced environment is designed to promote curiosity and imagination.
Our team at the nursery is what makes us truly special. Led by a qualified early years teacher, our highly trained and experienced staff members are committed to providing the best care and education for your child. They are passionate, nurturing and dedicated to creating a warm and loving environment in which your child can thrive.
We understand that entrusting your child to someone else is a difficult decision, but we assure you that their well-being is our top priority. We strive to build strong partnerships with our parents and work closely with you to support your child’s development and learning journey.
